This session was one for the books! Marissa chose to go with my property first here in Franklin and then Bass Bay Brewhouse along Lake Muskego for her second location. Little did we know a storm was barreling down on us out of nowhere!! Brandy, Marissa's mom, was such a good sport and held an umbrella over me while we photographed along the lake so I could get the perfect shot. I loved working with Marissa because she is a theatre kid and so am I. Her beautiful personality shines through in these senior portraits and I couldn't be happier. Working with Hannah on her senior portrait session was such a fantastic experience! Hannah is a super talented artist so we decided to go with Black Cat Mural Alley in downtown Milwaukee for one of her locations. This alley is such a cool spot and its graffiti is always changing! Hannah incorporated her sketch book and drawings into her senior portrait session, which I loved. Our second spot was in the Historic Third Ward. Hannah loves the water so we had to get some beautiful shots with the river in the background. We totally bonded over the tv show, Avatar Last Air Bender because we both consider ourselves Water Benders. I love the shots we got, so scroll through and check them out!
Sam decided to go with my five acre property here in Franklin, WI for his senior portrait session. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day with all the storms that have been coming through the Milwaukee area this month! Sam had just gotten back from a whirlwind trip of Europe that was done through his high school, Pius XI, and I was SO JEALOUS. I've had the chance to go to Rome post-graduation, but my high school never set anything up like that for us as students. Working with Sam was such a treat and I love the edits they chose - see for yourself below!
Photographing Emily's senior portraits in downtown Milwaukee was such a treat. I love when I get to meet both parents too! Emily decided to go with the Cathedral Square area and the Historic Third Ward for her senior pictures. Both of these spots are awesome for senior photography because there are so many adorable nooks and crannies for posing. Another awesome aspect of working with Emily was that she incorporated her love of dancing into the photo shoot. We had point shoes, tap shoes, leaps, and kicks! Collaborating with her and her parents on fun moves was such a blast. Take a look for yourself!
Working with Mindy on this mini child portrait and smash cake session was an absolute blast. Her boys had tons of energy and she came with a bunch of cute ideas - a photographer's dream! I felt so bad because these cuties posed with their shirts off and were getting eaten alive by mosquitos, but they braved it and we got some adorable smiles. Mindy told me that this little red wagon has been used for each of the boys' baby portraits, so photographing baby Harrison in it with his brothers was totally special. Baby Harrison then did a smash cake session and kept trying to "share" some with his momma. Mindy would have to repeatedly say, "Mmmm thank you!" to get Harrison to go back to eating. It was so cute!
When I think of Wonder Woman I think of the Franklin High School Dance Team. These girls are so fierce, strong, talented, and kind. Gal Gadot has got nothing on this Wisconsin group of high school girls! One of the dance moms, Wendy, was so wonderful in setting up the photography session with the high school - I couldn't have asked for a better coordinator. We lucked out and got a nice cloudy morning, which is perfect for a football field with ZERO shade in the summer. We started our photography shoot at the high school and then did the second half of the shoot on my property here in Franklin, WI. The girls loved our many chickens and even asked to pet one, which totally made my day! See the last set of pictures taken by one of the moms to check out that adorable moment...

The girls loved petting Lulu!
It's officially summertime on the homestead! I love taking a moment to capture all the breathtaking things growing this time of year on our property in Franklin, WI. When I'm not photographing Milwaukee area weddings, families, and seniors - I'm outside working on our land. The chickens also love this time of year because they get lots of garden weeds as treats. This was our first year planting a three sisters garden (corn, beans, and squash like the Native Americans planted) and I dare say it is doing fabulously! From our pastured poultry to the organic garden coming into its own, there is so much beauty to take in. See for yourself!

Having Michelle and her adorable family over last week was such a great time. We did a family portrait mini session on my property here in Franklin, WI and got some fabulous shots! The mini session is amazing for kidlets under 4 years old because usually 20 minutes is all their attention spans can take. The mini session is a tried and true way of getting amazing family portraits when you are on a budget. I use four "stations" on my property that have cute little props or are just plain gorgeous thanks to mother nature. We spend about five minutes at every station, which keeps things active and moving for your little one. I like to get a little bit of everything - shots of you and your partner, shots of just your kidlets, and pictures of everyone together. I couldn't be happier with the way this mini session turned out and I can't believe I only have a few left this season!!
"We did a family mini session with Kelsey and the experience was wonderful! We received our pictures back quickly and she was able to even get some great shots of our almost 2 year old who didn't exactly want to cooperate during it ;) Highly recommended!" -Michelle H.
I loved working with Michelle and her adorable family on this mini session. With all my mini sessions families come to my five acre property in Franklin, WI and we do a short and sweet photo shoot. It's an awesome way to photograph when you have kids under 5 years old because attention spans don't run out and smiles stay genuine! I absolutely love photographing families in May and June since everything is so green and gorgeous. I'm sad mini session season is almost over, but doing family portraits for all these Milwaukee families has been such a joy!
