Words cannot express how much of an honor it was to photograph Bryan and Kate's big day. Some weddings leave you feeling like the amount of love in the world is truly endless. This was one of those weddings. My favorite part was the gender reveal cake they had made, so that they were surrounded by all their closest friends and family when they found out they were going to be having a baby boy! We did simple bride and groom portraits around the Mill Ruins Park area in Minneapolis, and then had their family meet us for some posed group shots. The whole day was so easy and simple!
"Kelsey was absolutely great. She was really fun to work with, she really cared about how we wanted our wedding day to go, and we received our pictures VERY quickly afterwards. Highly recommend to anyone that wants some amazing pictures taken by an equally amazing person. Thanks again and again and again!"

Jennifer is yet another client that found me via Thumbtack! I have been absolutely loving this website as a Milwaukee based portrait photographer. Okay, enough about Thumbtack - on to the session! Jennifer and I collaborated on maternity outfits and props beforehand - she ended up bringing a book to use which was absolutely adorable. As for clothes we kept it comfortable and simple - only solid bold colors. We spent about 45 minutes downtown walking around and getting adorable poses. It was such a lovely session and I can't wait to meet this little nugget when she is born!
I had the pleasure of taking engagement portraits for Piper and Matt last fall, and even then I knew that their wedding at Edinburgh Golf Course would be one to remember. Piper and Matt were friends for some time before they became a couple, and with that came a huge level of respect for one another. Their relationship is the kind you strive for, one filled deeply with faith, friendship, and strength. It is the kind of relationship that is an absolute honor to capture as a photographer. Congrats to both Piper and Matt on a breathtaking wedding!
"Kelsey I cannot thank you enough for capturing our day perfectly. Every photo is gorgeous and when I look at the work you did I feel like I get to relive our wedding day over and over again. Thank you!!"
Carole and Ted found me via Thumbtack, their lovely wedding planner, Mary, had her eye out for someone willing to do half-day weddings - that would be me! Half day wedding rates are an extremely affordable way to still have a professional photographer capture your big day. The rate itself depends on travel, the total amount of time, and if you do want time set aside for a posed portion of the day (i.e. the wedding party photos, immediate family photos, etc.), but it still is extremely cost effective. Carole and Ted had me come from 3pm - 6:30pm to capture just a few posed portraits, the ceremony, and only half of the reception. Hazeltine Golf Course in Chaska, MN has a ton of huge beautiful windows which bring in a ton of natural light so we were able to stay inside the entire time. That worked out great because it was a blustery day so hair, dresses, and flowers would have been everywhere had we been outside. It was a beautiful ceremony and their love is the kind that photographers crave to capture - timeless and unconditional.
My parents know a lovely couple that lives two doors down from our cabin up north. They have been dear friends throughout the years, celebrating New Years Eves and 4th of Julys together. So when their son was nearing graduation it was a no brainer for us to set up a senior portrait session together. Josh is such a great kid, son, and student. Sometimes boys can be a bit harder to charm into a smile for portraits, but he smiled the whole time without any prompting! It was all around fun and relaxed!
I had the pleasure of photographing fellow yogi, Leah, for her new yoga studio website. We were able to use her studio in Milwaukee for an hour during the day to get gorgeous daylight for the photography session. Leah had some of her favorite students come in and went through a short flow so that I could photograph her working throughout. Working with Leah was so fun, and she was able to sneak in some great family Christmas card photos as well!
