Working with Mindy on this mini child portrait and smash cake session was an absolute blast. Her boys had tons of energy and she came with a bunch of cute ideas - a photographer's dream! I felt so bad because these cuties posed with their shirts off and were getting eaten alive by mosquitos, but they braved it and we got some adorable smiles. Mindy told me that this little red wagon has been used for each of the boys' baby portraits, so photographing baby Harrison in it with his brothers was totally special. Baby Harrison then did a smash cake session and kept trying to "share" some with his momma. Mindy would have to repeatedly say, "Mmmm thank you!" to get Harrison to go back to eating. It was so cute!
I absolutely adored taking family portraits for Ashley and her beautiful family. Although the weather was freezing outside (thanks Wisconsin spring!) we had a blast and got some beautiful shots. Ashley decided to go with my five acre property here in Franklin, WI for their session, and things were nice and green for us! Ashley was so sweet and warned me that her baby boy may not smile for us, but he totally came through and gave me some of the most precious grins a family photographer could ask for. Their daughter was so smart and sweet too, she asked if she could come back and see our chickens. I loved getting to know Ashley and her family, scroll through and see these beautiful pictures for yourself!

This family portrait mini session was such a wonderful way to end the season. We went to Legends Park and got some gorgeous photos! This was our last warm day before November hit us with some serious snow. Baby Maeve was ALL smiles for her 9 month old portraits. Mom and Dad did such a great job engaging with Maeve throughout the session, standing behind me and smiling and talking so Maeve would smile right back. It doesn't get cuter than this!
I'll give you a moment to ooh and ahh at that first one. This is Charlize, she is 8 months old, and if babies could take over the world I would choose her. Charlize's mom, Devin, is just about the coolest. She found me through long-time client and friend, Candice. Devin has a great eye for props and loves picking themes. Like these balloons! Charlize absolutely loved the basket and was in a great mood for the shoot. Hats off to Devin!
We found a little spot near Lake Michigan in Oak Creek and set up camp. With a few baby blankets, balloons, and adorable outfits- we made out with a great afternoon shoot. Grandma came too! It's always a great idea to have an extra set of hands besides mom and dad for baby portraits. That way if you need to make an emergency grab for diapers, a bottle, or some baby wipes - you can relax knowing the little ones are being taken care of. Charlize was all smiles. Devin and her husband are some of my favorite clients to come back to and I can't wait for our next shoot!
