I love when families come to me for their very first professional family portrait. Sarah confided in me that they have always gone for a JC Penny studio-type photography experience, but she was looking for something more personalized and fun this time around. Enter me! Sarah chose to have her family portraits here on my property in Franklin, WI. It was the perfect time of year to get a hint of fall color and I LOVE the wardrobe choices they made. Maroon is such a fabulous color choice for fall family portraits against the backdrop of faded green and autumn hues. The two kidlets were so well behaved and had such wonderful smiles. I loved working with the Marsch family and their portraits turned out gorgeous!
Photographing Sam and her beautiful family was such a treat! Sam contacted me for my Fall Mini Session Deal, which runs through October and November. We were a tad concerned about the cooler temps here in Franklin, so like a total genius Sam got these adorable bunny coats for her two girls. These sisters are the absolute cutest. The bunny coats kept them warm and definitely amped up the sisterly love. Scroll below to check out this sweet mini session!
I loved working with Heather and her beautiful family on this mini session. The mini session was the perfect length for their littlest girl, and they got tons of adorable shots. Heather came up with the idea to get the girls "superman-ing" their gymnastics leotards (see the photo below). Ideas like this make my heart soar!
Cassie and her beautiful family were such a joy to work with during my fall mini session season. I encouraged Cassie to bring their family dog, and I'm so glad because we got some amazing shots with her. Some of my favorite shots of just the two girls, so much sisterly love! Moms are always pleasantly surprised with how many poses we can fit into 20 minutes, but when you've been photographing families for ten years it is hard NOT to be efficient. I love all the shots we got, scroll through and see for yourself!
Working with Mandi and her wonderful family on their portrait session here in Franklin, WI was so much fun. Her three boys were bursting with energy and joy, making it easy to photograph them with big smiles on their faces. Mandi was awesome and brought a few of her own props for the session like blankets and a cute bench. The fall colors were on point too (finally!). I adore the photos we got for her family portrait session, take a look for yourself!
I adored working with Rebecca and her lovely family for my fall mini sessions this year. All my mini sessions take place on my five-acre property here in Franklin, WI. Their two daughters were so well behaved and smart, not to mention full of spunk! We had gorgeous comfortable weather (thanks Wisconsin) and the golden hour light was superb. It's crazy how long the green leaves held on this year, as late as October 20th. Alas, we still got beautiful pictures, see for yourself!
"We had a fantastic photo session with Kelsey at her property. She quickly put us at ease, we got shots in at least 4 different locations with multiple combinations of the group. We didn't feel rushed at all and absolutely love the photos. We got them much quicker than promised and the same with the edited photos. We will definitely returning the next time we take family photos!" - Rebecca
Having Michelle and her adorable family over last week was such a great time. We did a family portrait mini session on my property here in Franklin, WI and got some fabulous shots! The mini session is amazing for kidlets under 4 years old because usually 20 minutes is all their attention spans can take. The mini session is a tried and true way of getting amazing family portraits when you are on a budget. I use four "stations" on my property that have cute little props or are just plain gorgeous thanks to mother nature. We spend about five minutes at every station, which keeps things active and moving for your little one. I like to get a little bit of everything - shots of you and your partner, shots of just your kidlets, and pictures of everyone together. I couldn't be happier with the way this mini session turned out and I can't believe I only have a few left this season!!
"We did a family mini session with Kelsey and the experience was wonderful! We received our pictures back quickly and she was able to even get some great shots of our almost 2 year old who didn't exactly want to cooperate during it ;) Highly recommended!" -Michelle H.
I loved working with Michelle and her adorable family on this mini session. With all my mini sessions families come to my five acre property in Franklin, WI and we do a short and sweet photo shoot. It's an awesome way to photograph when you have kids under 5 years old because attention spans don't run out and smiles stay genuine! I absolutely love photographing families in May and June since everything is so green and gorgeous. I'm sad mini session season is almost over, but doing family portraits for all these Milwaukee families has been such a joy!
I absolutely adored taking family portraits for Ashley and her beautiful family. Although the weather was freezing outside (thanks Wisconsin spring!) we had a blast and got some beautiful shots. Ashley decided to go with my five acre property here in Franklin, WI for their session, and things were nice and green for us! Ashley was so sweet and warned me that her baby boy may not smile for us, but he totally came through and gave me some of the most precious grins a family photographer could ask for. Their daughter was so smart and sweet too, she asked if she could come back and see our chickens. I loved getting to know Ashley and her family, scroll through and see these beautiful pictures for yourself!

It was about time that I did a family portrait session for my own family! It's hard to believe that after ten years of doing portrait photography, we haven't gotten around to doing our own family portrait session. Better late then never I say! I love that my parents incorporated our family dog, Hershey. He truly is a member of our family and deserved to be included. We photographed for a simple 20 minutes around our property here in Franklin, WI. My boyfriend lovingly took some shots too so I could step in for a few. Despite the slight lack of green, I say we got some stunning shots!
